Hello World!

My name is Mesian Tilmatine (IPA: /ʔmeˈziːan tilmaˈtin/) and I am an Experimental Researcher in Cognitive Psycholinguistics.

In 2026, I'm finishing the last chapter my doctoral dissertation titled "A Beautiful Story: Neurocognitive Aspects of Literary Reading" at Freie Universität Berlin and Radboud University in The Netherlands. This project within the ELIT Network, supervised by Jana Lüdtke, Linda Geerligs, Iris van Rooij, and Arthur Jacobs, applies methods from Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence to address current issues in Empirical Literary Studies.

My academic interests are broad, but I have recently been most focused on Natural Language Processing, Media Reception, and Computational Social Science. Currently, I'm looking for work opportunities that allow me to use my skills to tackle societally relevant questions, for example in environmental, cultural, sociological, public health, or demographic research.

Next to working in a strictly research-based function (which I have most professional experience in), I'm also open to work in education, writing, or policy making. Location-wise, I'm primarily based in Berlin but also open to remote/hybrid work. Please contact me via the form below if you would like to, well, contact me about that.
